Vintage Mid-Century Terracotta Kendi Spouted Vessel | Rustic Earthenware Flower Vase Wabi Sabi Asian Studio Pottery 18cm

Vintage Terracotta Kendi (Spouted Water Vessel). Made in the mid-20th century (circa 1900–1950), this piece is a beautiful revival of traditional Southeast Asian ritual earthenware.
It features a classic globular body, a pronounced flanged collar neck, and a breast-shaped pouring spout. It is entirely unglazed, showing off the natural variegated brown tones and charcoal kiln-flashed marks from the wood-firing process.
In Japan, these rustic spouted vessels are heavily celebrated within the Mingei (folk craft) movement, where they are traditionally adapted as unique flower vases (Hanaire) for tea rooms or seasonal shelf displays.

• Artistry: Beautifully wheel-thrown with visible turning ridges along the neck and raw string-cut markings on the flat base.
• Condition: good vintage condition. The fragile spout and rim are intact with only minor surface wear, small scuffs, and natural firing imperfections that add to its rustic charm.

• Max Width (including spout): 16.0 cm (approx. 6.3 inches)
