Description:

Japan Noh theater drum Suzumi Taiko 1890s Japanese traditional instrument.

Antique Suzumi drum for Japanese Noh theater carved from single wood block with fine lacquer finishing and Maki-e floral decoration, skins have wear one with restoration. Original ropes with some wear but in good and usable. The instrument comes with silk bags and wood protective box.

Period: 1890s

Dimensions:  mounted drum H 28, skin Diam 20 cm, total weight 2.100 Kg + wrapping

Conditions: good, wear marks from usage on one of skins, wood in very good conditions, well preserved. Please see photos.
