Dragon sculpture Japan bronze 1700s Japanese temple bell antique art.

Antique elaborate Japanese bronze dragon sculpture. Very nice craft and detailed hammering, the 2 dragons are contraposed forming an arch that terminates in to a circle of Buddhist clouds. Originally crated to support a ceremonial bell the item is now exposed on an octagonal wood base. Fine bronze carving with very nice patina. Some wear marks from long handling visible, no fractures and no missing parts. Historical Japanese art work.

Period:  early 1700s mid Edo era.
