Ajisai Tsuzumi 1800s



Antique Japan drum Tsuzumi Taiko Noh theater 1800s hand craft instrument.

Fine art Japanese Noh theater historical drum Tsuzumi, carved from single hard wood block with lacquer finishing and Maki-e Japanese hydrangea Ajisai floral decoration, skins are in very good conditions and can stand tension with adjustable ropes. Very nice sound all in very good conditions.  The instrument comes with protective wood case and older silk ropes from original skin setting. Found with inner documentation of usage during a Japanese play in 1926. Immediately usable (item will be shipped dismantled in order to avoid damage).

Period: 1800 - 1900 Late Edo era

Conditions: good, light wear marks from usage, very well preserved. Please see photos.
