Japan antique wood sculpture Buddhist deity 1800s Japanese Daibonten art craft

Antique Japanese Buddhist deity sculpture from temple shrine dated 1838, nice aging with insect holes and elements erosion. The statue has many old restorations made with wood carving interlocking wood, skillfully executed. Antique coating and pigments still visible, named on back with ink inscription Daibonten and a deteriorated carved inscription on upper part with date Tempo 8 year 1838. Original and interesting sculpture, to be handled with care.
