Antque Japan Wabisabi bamboo Ikebana vase 1900 hand craft

Antique Japanese bamboo floral vase for Ikebana compositions. Dramatic bamboo wear, very nice patina and colour absorbed from decades of usage. Bamboo natural expansion repaired with copper clips and natural lacquer Urushi, creating a distinctive character of Wabisabi craft.

Ikebana master inscription in red lacquer on side, very hard to decipher, paper document found in the box (late Edo early Meiji) refers to "a gift from temple Sensei"

Poor condition, extensive wear from long usage and time, antique restoration, please see detail photos. Ikebana master Japan.
