Description:

Antique Japanese bronze temple architecture ornament 1800 hammered bronze craft, Giboshi (擬宝珠).

Antique Japanese Buddhist temple architecture bronze ornament Giboshi (擬宝珠). Hand craft from late Edo early Meiji era. From antique temple main altar access rail ramp, hammered hand craft bronze technique (please see architecture samples in photos). 
Very nice patina, made of 3 bronze elements locked together with pin. Some wear from long usage and time, long exposure to natural elements. Japanese antiques.

Period: 1800 - 1880 Edo - Meiji era (No markings present. Age attributed by style, craft, materials and provenance)

Dimensions:  H 19 Diam 10.5 cm, weight 0.490 Kg + wrapping
