Antique Japanese Buddhist esoteric temple lantern 1800 altar oil lamp

Antique Japanese Buddhist bronze temple lantern. Lost wax technique craft, inner earth mold still visible adding stable weight to each lantern. Made of several interlocking bronze parts, long used in rituals at temple main altar. Nice patina and shape, wear from long usage and time, all in original conditions as found. Historical item immediately usable.

Period: 1800 - 1880 Edo/Meiji era

Dimensions:  H 45 cm, total weight  3.970 Kg + wrapping
