Antique Japanese rural mountain temple Buddha wood sculpture XVIcent primitive Japan

Antique Japanese Buddha statue wood carving from rural temple in Gifu-Tsukechikyo. Beautiful dramatic effect of wood aging and decade. Fine wood carving can still be recognised in certain surviving area, probably once gold leafed. The statue has been expose to Japanese forest elements and intence humidity. Extensive wear from time and handling, poor and delicate conditions, extensive wear. Antique Japanese rural Buddhist sculpture.

Period: XVI - XVII Century, late Muromachi - early Edo era

Dimensions: total H 36 cm, total weight 1.180 Kg + wrapping
