Antique Taiko Japanese Buddhist drum hand craft 1800s Japan instrument.

Antique Japanese Buddhist Taiko drum made from single wood tree stump, 2 iron hanging rings for temple usage, skins are intact and produce deep sound, one is recent replacement one is old, the inscription referred to the temple were is was been used until recently (Kyo-machi Tera Gifu-shi central Japan). Wood surface bears the marks of many years of usage, wear from aging and long prolonged usage. Historical instrument, immediately usable.
