Antique Buddhist drum 1885 standing chanting drum Japan temple craft
Antique Japanese Buddhist standing Taiko drum complete with stand hitter and drum. Taiko has carved date and temple location (Take-jinjya), item is in original conditions as found with dust and patina from very long usage and time. Skin restorations make this drum still usable with deep sound. Wear from aging and long usage, insect erosion visible. Historical instrument, nice character immediately usable.
Period: dated March 1885 Meiji era
