Antique Raku-chawan 1880s Tea Ceremony cup Japanese Kama-kizu art.
Antique Raku-chawan cup with remarkable green glazing and very interesting Kama-kizu (natural imperfection from kiln). Very niche shape and harmonious feeling, the cups is light and nice to hold, beautiful simplicity. The fractured part is the result of kiln firing imperfection that got covered by green/transparent glazing allowing tiny light to filter throughout the sealed fracture. Unique item with nice glazing and patina. Light wear marks from usage visible on bottom with protective wood box. Immediately usable.
Period: 1880s Meiji era
Dimensions: H 9.5 Diam 13.5 cm, cup weight 0.376 Kg + wood box and wrapping.
